A technical background, a personal understanding of reformers

The Reformer Engineer was founded to bring a higher standard of technical care to Pilates equipment.

I am a qualified electrician and an experienced electro-mechanical service engineer, with a background maintaining complex equipment and critical building systems at the Bank of England. My career has been built around precision, reliability and solving problems properly — standards I now bring to every reformer I service.

The idea began through my fiancée, a Pilates instructor. After maintaining and repairing her reformer, I saw first-hand how important a well-cared-for machine is to both the instructor and the client experience. I also developed a genuine interest in reformer Pilates myself and now use the equipment regularly as part of my own fitness and training.

Using reformers personally has given me an appreciation for how a machine should feel in motion. It should be smooth, quiet and responsive, with every component working exactly as intended. From the carriage and wheels to the ropes, pulleys and springs, even small issues can affect the quality of a session.

I take a detailed, engineering-led approach to inspection, maintenance and repair, helping studios protect their equipment and maintain the standard their clients expect.

Because when every movement matters, the equipment behind it should perform flawlessly.
